Rio Rancho Acquires Land for New High School

By Maria Pumilia

The west side of Albuquerque has seen unprecedented growth in recent years.  The growth of jobs, retailers, homes and residents has typically outpaced the city’s ability to address the resulting infrastructure needs, such as roads, schools, and hospitals. Recently however, Rio Rancho Public Schools acquired 140 acres from the New Mexico’s Commissioner of Public Lands intended for the community’s second high school.  Rio Rancho Public Schools will pay the Land Office $2.52 million for the acreage.
